The Bible of Barbecue – Tramontina.

Tramontina, a manufacturer of cookware and accessories, recently created an innovative book designed to give aspiring chefs all the basics for a successful barbecue. Created in conjunction with JWT Brazil, The Barbecue Bible shows all the important steps for a great barbecue, but more interestingly, also includes within its pages all the necessary components and raw materials for grilling. It starts off with a page made of charcoal, which is designed to be smashed into pieces and serve as the basis of your fire. The tome also includes pages that turn into a fire starter, fan, apron, aluminum, knife sharpener and even salt. There is also a kitchen cloth and placemat, and the cover doubles as a chopping board. Unfortunately, it looks like the book will only be available in Brazil but you can get a closer look at it here:

Heaven and Hell – Samsonite.

Grand Prix.

JWT Shanghai has won a Gold Outdoor Lion for “Samsonite Heaven and Hell”, a print and outdoor advertisement for the Samsonite Cosmolite suitcase. The selling point is it’s ultra-durability. The billboard demonstrates the vivid contrast between how “heavenly” it is in first class for the passenger but “hellish” down below where the suitcase is being handled. And yet the suitcase emerges sparkling after the torture.

Honest Tea.

Honest Tea, a soft-drink brand conducted a social experiment to see which of the big cities in the United States is the most honest one. By placing unmanned racks filled with Honest tea flavours, people could decide whether they would pay 1 dollar for a drink, or not. Honest Tea then filmed and counted the percentage of people paying for their drink. What do you think: are people from New York fairer than San Francisco?

Dutch Customs – Scan App.

The Dutch customs launched a mobile app for travelers to check what they can bring in and out of the country. The app features an “OK-scan” where users can check their bags in the same way that customs officials do. Every scan results in a different (fake) picture of the inside of a bag, including an item that will raise eyebrows, such as weapons, counterfeit, protected goods and cash. Using another function “Is this ok”, travelers can check customs rules on these items.
