Old people remaking favorite movie scenes – The Contilia Retirement Group.

The Contilia Retirement Group in Essen, Germany has made perhaps the cutest calendar ever – and there isn’t so much as a Siberian husky pup in sight (scroll to see the gallery).

Seniors were dressed as leading men and ladies for the photoshoot, recreating iconic moments from films such as Rocky, Titanic and The Blues Brothers.

A website featuring stills from films and their corresponding color palettes.
A tool to promote learning and inspiration.

Movies In Color is curated and created by graphic designer Roxy Radulescu (RoxyMakesThings and roxymakesthings.com).

Roxy Radulescu describes her work in these words:
Research is first. I search for stills that are compositionally interesting as well as rich in color. I use the help of a color generator to get a very basic range of swatches. Then I piece together the general palette from that and other colors I think are prominent or worth including from the still. It’s all done in Photoshop to keep layout and swatch sizes consistent and to facilitate color sampling from the image.

Johnston says:
“This board had one of its hinges fixed by Joe Johnston. It was most likely dropped or thrown while filming JUMANJI. It has been kept with Studio Executive Michael Besman and in pristine condition for all of these years. He would now like for it to be enjoyed by a fan of the movie! This board was screen-used. The dice were not screen-used but were probably inside the board while it was being carried so you (the audience) could hear the sounds of the dice inside. Neither Johnston or Besman can confirm or deny how these dice were used while shooting the film. Both do confirm these dice were with props used in the film and were inside the board when it was originally given to Johnston during post-production on the film.”

You can find the auction link below.
The current bit is US $40,100.00 and it closes on Jan 25, 2014, who’s going to win?

Devil Baby Attack – Devil’s Due.

Hear a baby crying in an unattended stroller on the street? Of course you should investigate it. Just be warned that said baby might be part of a viral marketing stunt that will scare the living bejesus out of you.

The folks at Thinkmodo rigged this remote-controlled stroller with a demonic animatronic infant, replete with the ability to headbang, vomit, and just look downright possessed:

When the Thinkmodo team took their creation to the streets of New York, many a Good Samaritan fell victim to the devilish prank, and the reactions are priceless.
You might remember Thinkmodo from their last viral video creation: the telekinetic coffee shop prank in Manhattan, which, as it turned out, was a promotion for the movie “Carrie.”

And lo and behold, turns out “Devil Baby Attack” is also part of a promotion, this time for found-footage horror film, “Devil’s Due,” which opens this weekend.
Thinkmodo founder, Michael Krivicka, told Yahoo News that he thought the project “was an interesting social experiment to see how many people would bother to check on an abandoned stroller.

Olympic athletes not only represent their countries — they also represent their families.
Last year, consumer goods giant P&G saw the potential in this idea, and created the “Thank You, Mom” campaign for the 2012 London Olympics. The commercial “Best Job” offered a poignant look at how the mothers of Olympic athletes assisted their children every step of the way from childhood to greatness. It became a hit among consumers and critics alike.

The ad agency Wieden + Kennedy produced the commercial, and has released a sequel for February’s Sochi Winter Olympics.
Incredible balance is a common trait among every winter Olympian, whether their sport is skiing, snowboarding, skating, or hockey. “Pick Them Back Up” shows how the moms of athletes like gold medalists Lindsey Vonn and Evan Lysacek were always there to do just that:

As part of the campaign, P&G is sending $1,000 Visa gift cards to each of the 357 Olympic athletes’ moms, intended to help them travel to Sochi.

Couple Remakes Famous Movie Scenes With Their Baby and “Domestic Junk”.

You’ve seen these movies before, but never like this. Finding themselves with a house full of cardboard boxes from their recent international move, and a new-ish baby, this couple have been creating scenes from their favorite films built entirely from their “favorite domestic junk”. Look closely and you’ll spot plastic cutlery as teeth, overturned shelving as boats and a ridiculous amount of family creativity.
Lilly, Leon and Orson the baby have time to kill (or travel to space) on their weekends, so they’ve been putting up a new picture each week on their blog Cardboard Box Office
