Beer Turnstile – Antarctica.

Carnival in Rio is exuberant and outrageous. So beer brand Antarctica as a main sponsor decided to match their advertising with a potent message of ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’. Arrive safely at home after drinking by using the a ‘Beer Turnstile’ at the metro station.

beer2

A new underground turnstile accepted empty Antarctica beer cans as tickets. Via optical reading, each can was scanned and the passage freed. The person just needed to save the last (empty!) beer can and use it to get home safely.

#FitchTheHomeless – Abercrombie & Fitch.

Cattura

In response to Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries not wanting “not so cool” kids or women who wear size large to wear his company’s clothes, Greg Karber has come up with a funny and creative way to readjust the Abercrombie & Fitch brand.

He’s giving their clothes to the homeless.

After scouring his local thrift shop’s “douchebag section,” Karber heads to LA’s Skid Row to dole out the clothes among the homeless population. Watch the stunt and find out how you can be involved in one man’s troll-job on a company with some pretty unflattering business practices in the video.

Write it in your own voice – Uniball.

Cattura

Ever wondered what message are you implicitly sending when you use Comic Sans as a font? To (inappropriately) quote McLuhan, I’d say the font is the message, and this series of videos for Uniball does an awesome job educating us on typefaces and messages tone of voice.

Want to make sure your note comes out really meaningful and personal to the recipient?
Write it by hand. Using a Uniball pen of course…

Old Blue Jeans Transformed into Painterly Art – Ian Berry.

Ian Berry is a British artist. He creates monochromatic compositions that depict urban landscapes, the London Underground, diners, and even gets around to doing portraits — all out of varying shades of denim fabrics. His weeks of cutting, stitching, and gluing varying shades of denim fabric together create images that are uber rich in contrast and shadow. When you first look at his images, it’s hard not to be blown away by the detail and think his art must be a painting. Then, you find out they’re all created solely from denim, and your brain is thrown into a WTF tailspin; which makes the images so much more amazing.

His creations come to life by combing through thousands of pairs of discarded jeans. Utilizing the darkest of indigos to the lightest denim hues he’s able to find every shade necessary for creating dark shadows to bright highlights. You can see how he uses the unique fading tones and textures intrinsic in his medium to make the environments, hair, and clothes really come to life. The hyper-realness of his work is astounding.
